LaWanna Bradford Awarded Prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

Published on September 15, 2023

LaWanna Bradford, MPA has been awarded the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of 4,000 hours of volunteer service to the nation.

LaWanna Bradford, MPA was recognized in July for more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service to the nation and has been awarded the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. LaWanna will be recognized for this achievement at Michigan State University on September 23, 2023, as part of the Leadership Experience Tour where she will give a motivational and educational speech about Repositioning to Remain Relevant in An Ever-Changing Market.

President Joseph R. Biden commended her exceptional work empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable communications through innovative solutions. Her award came with a letter of recognition signed by President Biden and a White House certificate and coin.

President Biden said, “By sharing your time and passion, you are helping discover and deliver solutions to the challenges we face – solutions that we need now more than ever. We are living in a moment that calls for hope light, and love. Hope for our future-, light to see our way forward, and love for one another. Through your service, you are providing all three.”

The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to also take action.

In 2003, President George H.W. Bush created the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation which founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity.

He challenged each American to make time to help their neighbors, community, and nation through service.  He called on each person to dedicate at least 4,000 hours – or two years – to service over the course of their lives.
